Happy Halloween to cat lovers everywhere! Everyone knows that your cat can haunt you when it’s alive, waking you up in the morning or strolling between your legs while you’re carrying a tray of drinks. What may not surprise anyone is that ghosts can also haunt you when they’re dead.
In Japan, they believe that some cats can be shape shifters called a bakeneko. Japanese legends tell of bakenekos who torture bloodthirsty lords, probably by forcing them to get up early every morning to feed them. Practically every country and culture has their own legends of cats that have haunted them, so the next time you think your cat is annoying, just realize how much more terrifying it would be if it kept behaving that way towards you for eternity.
