If you’ve been feeding your cat from 20 lb. bags of Red Flannel® Cat Formula cat food, be aware that the FDA Detroit District Office identified that brand as possibly contaminated with Salmonella. Humans infected with Salmonella may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Occasionally, Salmonella can result in arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms.

Pets infected with Salmonella may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Other pets may only have decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.
