It’s unfortunate that so many people have negative perceptions about Islam since they incorrectly equate terrorism with Islam fanaticism (while completely ignoring fanatics in their own religion). If you want to know more about how Islam treats cats, you might be pleasantly surprised to find that Muslims have traditionally seen cats as “the quintessential pet” due to their cleanliness.
Muhammad is reported to have said that “a love of cats is an aspect of faith.” According to other hadiths, he even prohibited the persecution and killing of cats.
So perhaps by sharing our love for cats, people can cross religious boundaries and realize that we’re all seen as servants to the cats on this planet. Maybe once we realize that cats are respected by all intelligent human beings will we finally realize that the biggest enemy on this planet aren’t people of other faiths but people who don’t share respect for nature including cats.
