When a family moved away in California, they left behind their long-haired Chihuahua and a kitten. Neighbors heard the abandoned animals and found that the Chihuahua was nursing the kitten. Now the Chihuahua and kitten have been placed in the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California where they’ll be put up for adoption as a pair to keep them together.

“This incredible little family really demonstrates the pure hearts of the orphan animals we meet each day,” said Helen Woodward Animal Center Inventory Manager Labeth Thompson.   “They love each other.  That’s all there is to it.  It’s not complicated.  They needed each other and they were there for each other.”
