Back in the 70’s there was a television show called “The Six Million Dollar Man,” which was about a man given superhuman powers through artificial limbs. Although we’re still far from developing super humans, we are getting closer to creating better artificial limbs than just a simple wooden peg for a leg or a metal hook for a hand.
One cat lost her back legs so surgeons replaced her missing limbs with artificial ones so she can still get around. Now with more advances in artificial limbs for humans, the same technology can be used to make the lives of cats and other animals more bearable.
