After raising $61,000 through crowd funding sites, KitTea hopes to be the first cat cafe in San Francisco. Now KitTea may have a competitor that also wants to open a cat cafe in San Francisco. Called the Green Cat Rescue Cafe, this new cat cafe is also relying on crowd sourcing to raise money.

However unlike KitTea, the Green Cat Rescue Cafe will focus more on cats and less on food and beverages. The idea will be that people will pay for the time they spend in the cat cafe. The more time you spend with the cats, the more you pay. If you want a refreshment, you can get one from a vending machine, which keeps cats separate from food handling.
