If cats only had opposable thumbs, they could open their own cats of cat food and not bother with human beings at all. With opposable thumbs, cats might even decide they can drive to the supermarket so they can buy their own cat food.
Of course, cats still need a way to make money so they can buy their own cat food, which probably is a reason why cats have never evolved opposable thumbs in the first place. After all, they would cats work if they don’t have to?
