If you happen to adopt a kitten that’s been weaned away from its mother too soon, it may continue to nurse as a way to comfort itself or deal with stress. While this continuous nursing habit might not be destructive, it can be annoying especially if your kitten nurses on you constantly.
To help wean a cat off its nursing habit, discourage this behavior whenever it occurs by pulling the kitten away from the object it’s nursing on. Eventually the kitten should get the message and stop nursing. Also be sure to keep the cat calm so it won’t feel any more stressed out.
