When animals grow up together, they often don’t know they’re not supposed to be friends, much like Israeli children growing up with Palestinian children. In this case, Andre Costa, a Brazilian biologist, got Cleo the owl and Forbi the cat when they were both young and let them hang out together. As they grew older, they remained friends. Forbi the cat evidently forgetting that cats normally eat birds.

If cats and birds can get along, surely people can too. Then again, the fact that cats and birds can get along might prove that both cats and birds have larger brains than most humans on the planet anyway.
