Monty, who was rescued from a Copenhagen, Denmark, shelter a year ago , was born without a nasal bridge, or a nose bone. But while the ‘chromosomal abnormality’ causes him to sneeze a lot, he is still healthy and can breathe normally.

Monty has become popular enough on Facebook that his owners now sell Monty merchandise to help promote the idea that all cats can be lovable even if their appearances may differ from the norm. The next time you see a person or animal that looks different, you can celebrate that difference and look beyond the physical appearance to see what’s inside. That’s an important lesson that Monty can help everyone learn.
