When Elizabeth Ober and her family adopted Salem the cat ten years ago, they thought they’d have their pet when they decided to move to a new house 8.3 miles away. Unfortunately when they were moving, Salem darted outside and despite setting traps and looking for him, they never found him and had to leave Salem behind.
Two months later, Elizabeth found Salem outside her new house, a home that Salem had never seen before in his life. Somehow Salem had not only found his family, but found their house without ever having been in that house or neighborhood before. How did Salem manage to find his way to an unfamiliar home? That’s the question even scientists can’t figure out.
