Beware of over the counter medication like Advil, Motrin, and Aleve. That’s because if your cat accidentally eats them, they medicine could prove fatal to your cat. There are even lotions and creams containing flurbiprofen to treat muscle or arthritis pain, which can also prove dangerous to cats.
As a general rule, make sure your cat never eats anything other than approved cat food and treats. You don’t want your cats eating medicine by mistake and risking serious illness or death. There’s a reason medicine containers have child-proof containers. It’s not just to protect against kids eating pills by mistake, but to protect cats as well.
