If you have a family, chances are good you have life insurance to protect them financially in case you should die early. Yet when it comes to pet insurance, dog owners are more likely to take out a policy on their pet than cat owners.
According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), one in four dog owners have policies on their dogs, but only one in six cat owners have insurance on their felines. Perhaps cat owners believe that cats really do have nine lives so it might be too expensive to insure all nine lives.
Insurance can never replace a loved one, but it can at least financially cushion the emotional shock of sudden loss. If you don’t think you could live without your pet, consider taking out insurance. At the very least, the insurance companies will love you.
