Dog owners like to claim dogs are smarter than cats because you can train a dog. They don’t realize that cats are actually smarter because they can outwit their owners into thinking they can be trained. After all, if you want to have someone tell you what to do whenever they feel like it, you might as well get a job.
Yet cats can be trained to do tricks as long as they want to do them. A Maine Coon cat named Charlie can do a variety of tricks for the amusement of itself. Using a clicker, Charlie’s owner, Rachel, taught Charlie to perform several tricks that could put many dogs to shame.
All of this proves that cats can do tricks just as well as dogs. It’s just that cats usually choose the option of doing nothing as a better alternative.
