If you adopt a feral cat, it may be skittish and constantly hide from you. So how do you make a feral cat more sociable? The key is to give the cat confidence in its new surroundings.
Don’t put food and water under the bed or in the closet but out in the open so the cat is forced to come out occasionally. The more the cat comes out, the more confidence it can build testing out its new environment. The more you cater to the cat’s fear, the less likely it will ever expand its boundaries to come out more often.
