When Fred Petrick and Tony Lacari learned that their beloved two-year-old cat Arthur had fatal kidney disease, they were willing to do anything to save him. That’s when they learned that they could save Arthur with a $15,000 operation, which was done by only three places in America. The further stipulation also required that they cat donating the kidney.

Fred and Tony quickly agreed and saved Arthur while also adopting the donor cat named Joey. Now Arthur and Joey are friends while Joey has a loving home. While Arthur will need to take immunosuppressant drugs for the rest of his life to avoid his body rejecting the kidney, the couple is in a financial position to afford this medical care so their cat can live as long as possible.
