The latest Internet craze is to put a cucumber near a cat and watch it freak out when it turns around and sees some strange green item nearby. While this may seem humorous, it can be traumatic for the cat.

Generally cats need to be socialized to people and different places at an early age between two and seven weeks old. After that age, cats who grow up in isolation may be more fearful of unusual situations and items such as cucumbers.

Although cats have started Internet crazes, don’t frighten your cat with a cucumber because it’s funny. After all, your cat wouldn’t frighten you for fun, but it might retaliate by spraying everything in your closet for revenge.
