If you have a cat that sometimes misses the litter box, you know how pungent the smell of cat urine can be. Now imagine if you lived in an entire village that smelled like cat urine. What would you do then?

That’s the case with a village in New York. “The mystery smell around much of Harmon had our crew out around 11:50 this morning,” the Croton-on-Hudson fire department wrote. Authorities are peeking into manholes and storm drains to see where the cat urine odor might be coming from.

If you happen to live in a village that smells like cat urine, make sure your cats are using the litter box. Then look around to make sure nobody around is hoarding cats who might be making a house smell like the inside of a litter box.
