Cat cafes originally started in Taipei, Taiwan and soon spread through Asia before coming to Europe and North America. Now cat cafes are starting to take over the rest of the world as well.

Yet the world’s first cat cafe is still open for business after 18 years. Called Cat Flower Garden, the original cat cafe currently houses 15 felines, two dogs, and one bird. To visit the Cat Flower Garden, you must pay a minimum drink fee (to ward off loiterers). Most patrons are largely young tourists from Taiwan and Japan.
