Once upon a time, Richard East had the corporate job and a house but he was still not happy. “I knew I had to change but I wasn’t quite sure what that change would be,” he said.
Deciding to change his life, he sold his house, most of his possessions, packed his life into a van and drove off into the sunset. However, one possession he took with him was Willow, a little black rescue cat.
“[She] was living in my house but was no longer wanted so I vowed to look after her for the rest of her days,” he said.
Now Richard and Willow travel in a van around Australia, meeting other people who are also traveling with their cats. Richard has no plans to end his year long road trip any time soon, but whatever happens, you can be sure he’ll have Willow as company.
