For five years, Browser the cat lived in the Texas public library. Now despite children’s petitions, the Texas city council has voted to evict the cat out of the library.

“City Hall and City businesses are no place for animals,” Council member Elzie Clements said.

“This cat has been loved by people of all ages for six years,” Lillian Blackburn, president of the Friends of the White Settlement Public Library, said. “I don’t have any animals but this cat is so gentle and so lovable and he brings so much comfort to so many people, it seems a shame to take him away.”

Browser has 30 days to vacate the library unless lawmakers change their mind. If you think a cat should stay in a library, write a letter in support of Browser.
