Owning a cat isn’t like buying a piece of furniture that you can just put somewhere in your house and ignore. Cats require constant care and maintenance to insure they remain healthy. That’s why you need to know what you should never neglect when taking care of a cat.
First, take your cat to the vet regularly. This might mean your cat gets better health care than you do, but if that bothers you, make an appointment to see the vet yourself. After all, the vet probably has access to the same medicines that your doctor has.
Second, treat your cat well. Don’t push it off counters but gently remove it from places where you don’t want it to sit. Then after your cat rips your arms and hands to shreds and goes right back to the exact spot you didn’t want it to be, you can repeat the process all over again.
