In San Mateo, California, three people lived in a house with a cat. One night, the cat started meowing and jumping up and down on one of the residents. Thinking someone was trying o break in, the resident woke up and discovered that the house was on fire.

The residents escaped but the cat remained in the home until firefighters arrived and rescued it and took it to a 24-hour veterinary service. At last report, the cat is doing well and will likely be reunited with its house residents as soon as they find a new house to live in.
