November 17 was National Black Cat Day, a holiday to celebrate the existence of black cats. Unfortunately in the United States, black cats have gotten the unfair reputation for being unlucky, yet that’s not the case in other parts of the world.

In Japan, young women believe black cats increase their chances of romance. In Great Britain, black cats are considered good luck. They may not bring you good luck, but they will certainly make your life richer and more rewarding as they knock over vases and shred your drapes just like any other cat would do.
