In Gatlinburg, Tennessee, a wildfire spread so fast that many residents never got an evacuation call of any kind. Mark Burger, 60, owned a gift shop called Peace Frogs. Burger’s son once found an abandoned cat and gave it to Mark as a gift. The cat, named Tiger, may have saved mark’s life.
After 8 p.m. Tiger stood at the curtained windows, then paced back and forth in front of the door. Tiger ran up to Burger to attract his attention, then raced back to the door. That’s when Mark decided to peek outside and saw how close the wildfire had gotten to his home. He hurriedly grabbed some belongs, Tiger, and got in his car where he barely escaped the flames.
If you think cats aren’t loyal, then you’ll have to ask Mark how Tiger saved his life. To read more about the cat that alerted its owner to a wildfire, click here.
