In Japan, cat cafes have been around for thirteen years. Yet cat cafes are just starting to gain popularity in North America and Europe. Since people in Japan have gotten used to seeing cat cafes, Japan has taken this concept one step further and will now offer cat trains.

Just as a cat cafe lets you spend time in a cafe with a cat, a cat train will let you spend time with a cat while riding a train. For $27 you’ll get a bento box lunch, sweets, and a ticket along with a chance to mingle with cats in your train car.

If riding with a cat seems like a good time, consider supporting Japan’s cat train. Perhaps if cat trains become popular, they can eventually migrate to the rest of the world as well.
