The Japanese have a tradition called tebori, which defines a technique of tattooing by hand. As both an illustrator and a tattoo artist, Kazuaki Horitomo, a California-based Japanese artist, decided to combine tattoos with cats and create Japanese-style illustrations depicting cats giving other cats tattoos.
If you like cats, you’ll appreciate the Japanese style of art. If you like tattoos, you’ll also appreciate the whimsical style of these drawings. While it’s hard to imagine a cat holding still for a tattoo when it’s hard enough to give a cat a bath, the pictures do show a form of fantasy that isn’t skewered by ideology and politics.
