A cat scratched a man in Belgium and gave him a disease caused by Bartonella henselae, a bacteria found in cats’ mouths and claws. While the disease is treatable, it does have unfortunate consequences.

Before antibiotics wiped out the disease, it prevented the man from engaging in sex. Apparently this is a way for cats to threaten males unless they bow to the cats’ will at all times. If human males fail to do this, the cats will scratch them and prevent them from having sex ever again.
