Many people think the Internet spawned the popularity of cat videos, but cat videos have been popular since the time there were cats and film. A recently unearthed 1936 film shows a cat named Mickey who was a firehouse cat in Minneapolis.
Even more remarkable, Mickey would jump down the fire pole with the firemen and ride in the trucks to the fire. Unfortunately one day Mickey jumped for the pole and missed, and fell to his death. Still, Mickey did what he loved and made people’s lives happy as a result.
