The British embassy in Jordan is just a building and like any building, it’s a haven for rodents of all types. That’s why the British embassy has decided to get an official mouser named “Lawrence of Abdoun,” a fluffy black-and-white tom.

Since Laurence of Abdoun is part of the British diplomatic service, he reports directly to the Foreign Office’s cat named Palmerston. Perhaps if we let more cats handle diplomacy, the world would be a better place for everyone, especially for the cats.
