When many people think about adopting a cat, they often look for kittens. However, don’t overlook adopting an older cat, especially a black one. Because of superstition, many people fear that black cats may be bad luck when the truth is that any cat will bring you bad luck by ripping your furniture apart anyway.
Older cats can actually be easier to adopt since you have more choices in an animal shelter and older cats are already trained to use litter boxes and being around people. Best of all, older cats can be just as affectionate as kittens while requiring far less work for you to clean up afterwards.
So adopt an older cat, especially a black cat because those types of cats are often neglected and overlooked. They’re still cats so they can still bring joy to your life while ripping your furniture to shreds.
