Jenn Thompson, her husband and her two young children adopted Pilot the cat back in 2004. They had Pilot microchipped and he lived as an indoor-outdoor cat in Santa Rosa, California. Then one day, Pilot wandered off and was never seen again.

The family feared the worst and eventually moved from North California to Colorado. When wildfires devastated Northern California, rescuers saved several cats and brought them into a shelter. That’s when a vet scanned Pilot, found his microchip, and helped reunite him with his family.

Ten years later, Pilot is back with his original family. If you have a cat, a microchip is the best way to insure your cat can find its way back to you one day and bring joy and shredded furniture to your home once more.
