Hasbro has been selling a robotic cat as a companion for people who may not be able to care for a real cat (think litter and food). Now Hasbro has teamed up with scientists at Brown University, who have received a three-year, $1 million grant to add artificial intelligence.

Of course, cats are smart enough as it is, so making an artificially intelligent robot cat might mean having the cat become a dictator and boss its human inferiors around, which means it won’t be much different than a real cat.
