If you adopt a cat that’s been used to living outdoors, you may wonder if it’s possible to train he cat to use a litter box. Happily, the answer is yes. The real problem is training any cat to use a litter box.
First, make sure that the cat knows where the litter box is by placing the cat in there. Second, keep the cat in the room with the litter box so it knows where to go. Third, pray that the cat actually uses the litter box instead of the floor.
Training a cat to use a litter box depends on the cat, but most cats understand the purpose of litter. Then again, most cats don’t care what you think so you may need to repeat this process multiple times until it gets it right.
