Just as there are movements to protect minorities in society, there’s now a movement to protect animals. Called the Animal Welfare Manifesto, Sue Hayman, who is shadow environment secretary as well as MP for Workington, said she wanted the United Kingdom to become world leader on animal rights.
Part of this manifesto would pass a law requiring motorists to report whenever they accidentally injure an animal on the road with their car. Since animals don’t always have the political power as humans, people have to vote for the cats instead and the United Kingdom could become the world leader in animal welfare.
