A man in London wanted to foster a cat from the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Unfortunately, the shelter rejected his application because his flat was too small and the cat would not have its own room.

The rationale given by the shelter makes sense: “A room that is comfortable and quiet, away from busier parts of the home, allows the cat to gradually start to feel safe and hopefully gain more confidence, whereas if they have access to the entire home before they are settled it may be too much for them.“

Hopefully this man will be able to foster a cat in the future, perhaps by dividing his flat into smaller rooms so the cat can have its own space, preferable a space larger than the man taking care of it.
