Japan borders on the ring of fire, which is a fault line that creates earthquakes and volcanos. Mount Shinmoedake, a volcano in Japan’s Kagoshima Prefecture, has been erupting for months, shooting smoke and volcano ash into the air. Curiously, one snapshot of the billowing smoke resembles a cat.

If the thought of an angry cat leaping out of a volcano doesn’t frighten you, then you probably haven’t been around enough cats to realize you never want to get on the bad side of any feline. Perhaps if a cat does emerge from the smoking volcano, it can stomp all over Tokyo and threaten the human race, which is what cats tend to do best.
