In many neighborhoods, there’s a friendly cat that roams freely from house to house. In Oakland, that friendly neighborhood cat is named Matisse and cheerfully helps keep the neighborhood together.

Over the years, Matisse’s owners have put a sign around her neck to let strangers now that she’s not lost, she has a home, and not to keep her trapped inside any house that she might be visiting at the time. Matisse eventually finds her way back home after visiting people in the neighborhood. Now if we only had more cats roaming around the United Nations, perhaps more people would be at peace.
