Iceland may have roughly 300,000 people total int he entire country, yet many of those people love their cats just as much as anyone else. When Icelanders go on vacation and can’t find someone to care for their cat, they can now choose between one of two cat hotels available.

An animal hospital in Garðabær has just opened a cat hotel. If you happen to live closer to Reykjavík, then you can visit Kattholt, Iceland’s other cat hotel.

Jón Örn Kristjánsson, the financial director of the animal hospital, says, “There have been overbookings and our clients have often asked if we can accommodate their cats. We have the means and the space to open a cat hotel, so we decided to give it a shot.”
