Most people are disgusted with politics because the politicians never seem to be open and honest. That’s why so many people are excited about the elections for Kitty Hall, an annual event that promotes pet adoption from Minneapolis Animal Care and Control.

Six adoptable adult cats run for kitty council president and meow-or. Winners serve for one year, which is about the length of a four-year term in cat years. Each cat candidate has his or her own political platform that ranges from purrmitting additional kitty housing to stepping up anti-trust enforcement against kitty litter monopawlies.

In case today’s political scene seems too toxic, take a break and enjoy the Kitty Hall elections instead. At least this could be the only election that everyone can enjoy whether their candidates win or lose.
