Sherlock is a seven-year-old purebred Siamese cat who lives alone with no other pets. Like most cats, Sherlock has unusual habits but one of his habits involves playing with stuffed, orange toy cats. Even stranger is that he likes to bring them to his food bowl as if they wanted to eat.
Behaviorists say the cat isn’t trying to feed them but is trying to hunt them down and bring them back to the nest or feeding area. Apparently this is meant to the competition from hunting and finding the prey in the wild first.
If Sherlock’s strange behavior mimics your own cats weird actions, then you might just be part of the mystery of living with cats, who seem to have no logic of their own. Then again, cats probably think humans have no logic of their own either.
