Although there’s a general belief that cats like fish, not all of them do. That’s because the primary diet of cats has always been birds and rodents, so some cats can actually be allergic to fish or turn their noses up at it anyway.

Fish in cat food can be fine since it’s usually formulated for the health of the cat, but feeding your cat ordinary fish from the table means your cat may not be getting the nutrients it needs such as thiamine.

So an occasional table scrap might be fine, but unless you’re regulating your cat’s food intake, it’s best to use commercial cat food designed to make sure your cat gets all the nutrients it needs.
