Doughnut is a 28-pound cat who was at the Jacksonville Humane Society. When the shelter posted pictures of Doughnut on social media, over 2,000 people saw the picture and several even showed up at the shelter to adopt the overweight feline.
Shelter officials settled on one family that they thought would be best to keep Doughnut on a strict exercise and diet regimen. Doughnut’s new family will keep his food intake down and his exercise activity up. Hopefully he’ll start shedding those excessive pounds and get down to a healthy weight so he can enjoy his new home even longer.
