Hagerstown resident, Trisha Horowitz, is the founder and main volunteer with Into the Wild Cat Rescue, a charity dedicated to helping stray cats find good homes. She rescued her first cat seven years ago on Hagerstown Community College’s campus and still has the cat today.

She started volunteering for a dog rescue organization then created a cat rescue division. Although she’s affectionately known as the “cat lady” in the neighborhood, she takes that as a compliment as she acts as a voice and advocate for cats needing help in Washington County.
