When animals appear in movies, people often gush over the animal and ignore the human actors. That’s because a cat like Goose in “Captain Marvel” always brings a smile to people’s faces if they like cats.
While movies can keep filming shows over and over until they get them right, or simply use computer generated images to depict a cat, stage plays have to rely on puppets, stuffed animals, or actual animals. When using actual animals, there’s an element of risk since real animals are unpredictable. This can make stage plays far more exciting to watch just in case something goes horribly wrong.
