Sixteen months ago, a mudslide tore through a Southern California community. Noelle Strogoff of Montecito and her family evacuated before the mudslides hit, but they couldn’t find their cats and had to leave them behind.

When Noelle happened to strike up a conversation with a worker who was cleaning her deck, the worker mentioned he was caring for a cat for the past year that he had found. After comparing notes, they realized the worker had been caring for Noelle’s cat, Diamond.

Now Diamond is back with his family where he belongs. Hopefully Diamond won’t be separated from his family any time soon, but it’s always a good idea to do what you can now to insure you get your cat back if you’re ever separated for any reason.
