With movies like “Pet Semetary” and “Captain Marvel” including cats, people are wondering what it takes to train a cat to appear in TV shows and movies. First of all, most cat roles are played by multiple cats so that increases the chance one cat will want to perform when the director needs to shoot a scene.

Training a cat involves lots of treats. Then after training, the cats need to be comfortable on the set, which usually means a separate, air-conditioned area. Finally, the cats need to get comfortable around strangers and other animals along with the chaos of a typical movie set.

So training a cat is just part of the problem. You must also train a cat to get used to strangers and unfamiliar surroundings. Nevertheless, cats can steal the spotlight in any movie they appear in.
