Many people provide cat doors so their cat can go in and out. Unfortunately for many these outdoor cats, they often bring in dead animals like mice or birds and then leave them scattered around the house. To prevent this, Amazon engineer Ben Hamm came up with a smart cat door.

Ben programmed his cat door to use machine learning and a camera to detect when his cat was carrying a dead animal in its mouth. If so, then the cat door would be blocked. Only if the cat was not carrying a dead animal would the cat door open and allow the cat inside.
