People all over the world love cats. Yet a seemingly equal number of people all over the world seem to hate the “Cats” movie. Apparently the the visual effects of turning people into cat-like creatures has proven so unsettling that people are horrified at the special effects.
The studio actually fiddled with the visual special effects under pressure and even hastily shipped a modified version of then film to theaters. Despite any improved visual effects, “Cats” will likely lose millions of dollars. That just goes to show that Hollywood might have been better off if they had simply showed real cats instead of human actors instead.
