Although it’s possible to train cat, it’s more likely that a cat will train you. Despite this, sometimes you need to correct or modify a cat’s behavior, especially if it’s acting too much like a cat by destroying everything you own.

The main goal to correcting a cat’s behavior is to avoid punishment and rely on sound and smells to discourage a cat from certain actions. For example, tossing a soda can filled with pennies will create a loud noise that will startle a cat any time it starts engaging in bad behavior.

Another option is to smear a surface that a cat is chewing with citrus or perfume to annoy the cat by the small so it won’t go there any more. By correcting a cat’s behavior indirectly, you can still be friends with your cat and still make it do what you want (hopefully).
